Friends of Perth & Kinross Council Archive

The Friends group was started because users of the Archive wanted to know more about the records that make up our history and culture. They also realised that they could help make the records more accessible to a wider audience, especially as the increased interest in family and local history has led to more people using the Archive.

Perth & Kinross Council Archive holds a variety of original material - maps, plans, manuscripts and letters, as well as official records such as Council minutes. Preserving these  collections is vital to the cultural heritage of the region.

Membership of the Friends is open to anyone. You can receive and contribute to the Friends newsletter and take part in our programme of talks and outings. Some members use their talents and enthusiasm as volunteers on projects in the Archive itself.

If you would like to find out more about the Friends, just contact the Archive or you can download and post a membership form (pdf.301kb).
