Angling competition, 1909
Angling as a sport became popular during the 1850s, as railways eased access to good fishing grounds. Anglers had long been fishing Loch Leven and by the mid nineteenth century it had become 'the first angling lake in Scotland'.
This photograph is of the group of competitors in the National Angling Clubs Association 30th Annual Competition at Loch Leven.
