Bookstart Scotland Day 2008
Thanks to everyone who came along and joined in with songs and stories for Bookstart Scotland Day on 15 May 2008. Thousands of young children and their carers took part in Bookstart Rhymetimes across Scotland to make up Scotland's Biggest Bookstart Rhymetime.
In Perth and Kinross we held four Bookstart Rhythm & Rhyme sessions on the day:
- a session at AK Bell Library
- a special 'signed' session at Auchterarder Community Library to launch Bookshine, the new Bookstart pack for deaf children.
- two sessions in Letham St Mark's Church with children, teachers and parents from the nurseries at Letham and Our Lady's Primary Schools.
Song sheets with the top ten nursery rhymes, as voted for by residents of Perth and Kinross, were also sent out to nurseries so that they could take part.
Great fun was had by all and we are already looking forward to next year's Bookstart Scotland Day!
