Education Resource Centre
The Education Resource Centre is based in the AK Bell Library,
York Place, Perth
It aims to support learning and teaching in schools and education
services by providing good quality resource support and information
services for curriculum development.
The ERC is open Monday - Friday 9.00 - 5.00 (Closed Public
Holidays)
The Centre provides the following services:
Lending Services
- learning & teaching materials
- topic collections on all subjects
- themed fiction collections
- professional development and management materials
- multi-media packs, kits and models
- inter-library loans
Information Services
We have access to a wide range of Internet databases
to help with
- newspaper and magazine searches
- resource reviews and selection
- bibliographic searches
Support Services
Staff are available to visit schools to provide:
- LRC training
- Information & study skills work with pupils
- storytelling and poetry sessions
- support for your school's library management system for both
adults & children
We will also:
- arrange class visits to local libraries
- give advice on resources
Resources
These include:
- books
- audio cds
- posters
- big books
- kits
- models and artefacts
A weekly delivery service to all secondary schools is available,
with primary schools being visited when there are items for
delivery or uplift.
