Internet Access

Each of our 13 libraries is connected to the People's Network, a lottery funded nation-wide scheme providing free access to computers and the internet in public libraries all over the UK.

We also subscribe to recommended sites found at our online reference library, providing a range of good quality information on the world wide web.

You can use the computers to:

  • Study and learn
  • Find information on the world wide web
  • Send and receive email
  • Word process your CV and other paper work
  • Prepare a presentation in power-point
  • Create spread sheets and databases
  • Print your work
The libraries in Auchterarder, Blairgowrie, Crieff, Scone and the AK Bell in Perth also provide a scanner and cd burner.

There is now also FREE wireless access to the internet at AK Bell Library.

Charges

We charge 20p per page for printing in black and white and 40p for colour.
The use of the computers and the internet is free.

One computer, located on the ground floor at the A K Bell, has accessible software added to provide screen magnification and speech output for people with visual impairment. A trackerball and keyboard with large keys are also available.
