There is a wide variety of books for you to choose from. We have all the latest novels from your favourite authors. You will also find separate sections for Romance, Westerns, Crime, Science Fiction and Fantasy, and Graphic Novels.

Large print books are also available, again written by all your favourite authors.

If you prefer fact to fiction then we have many subjects for you to browse through. From car manuals to the ancient world, biographies to painting, we are sure that you will find something to suit your taste.

If you can't see the type of book that you are looking for then please don't hesitate to ask a member of our staff at the Enquiry desk.

Renewing books

Remember, there is no charge to borrow books. You can borrow up to twelve at any given time and you can borrow them for three weeks. If you need to have the books longer then phone us, with your library card to hand, and we will renew the books for a further three weeks, or you can renew them online, so long as no one else is waiting for the books.

Please note that any books returned after the three week loan period which have not been renewed will incur fines.

If you would like to contact us please call 01738 444949 or send an e-mail to library@pkc.gov.uk

Library Catalogue

On the other hand you could also use our online catalogue. Each library has computers for public use that can be used to search for the book or multimedia item that you are after.

You don't even need to come into the library to search for a book, you can search the library catalogue from your home computer. If you want to go further and be able to renew, reserve or request an item, all you need is your library card and a PIN number which any member of staff can give to you the next time you are in the library or email library@pkc.gov.uk.

For security reasons PIN numbers are not given out over the telephone.
