WRVS Books on Wheels
Library Direct works in partnership with WRVS to deliver books
to people who are unable to visit their local library. Throughout
Perth and Kinross, WRVS Books on Wheels volunteers visit more
than 200 people at home. They can also link users with other
WRVS services like WRVS Good Neighbours.
Who can use Books on Wheels?
If you are unable to visit your local library because you are
housebound, recovering from illness, have mobility difficulties,
visual impairment or are a carer at home, we can bring
the library service to you.
How does this service work?
When you contact us to join, your local library staff
will discuss your interests and requirements. In addition to
our regular stock, we have an extensive collection
of
large print and
audio
books available and we can supply music CDs and videos
too. We will select items for you and arrange for a WRVS
volunteer to deliver to your home fortnightly or monthly.
