You'll find much more than just books in our libraries.
Have you browsed through the Multimedia items? This
is where you will find the non-book stock.
Multimedia items include: DVDs from movie blockbusters to
award winning television series, outstanding documentaries to easy
workouts; a wide variety of music CDs and Talking Books (on a
cassette, CD and Playaway, a pre-loaded mp3
player). There is something to suit all tastes.
Who can use it?
Anyone with a library card can borrow up
to 8 of the items mentioned above (12 Talking Books), in
any combination and in addition to the number
of books you can borrow. Please note however, that
Talking Books are part of your book allocation, so if you
borrow 12 Talking Books you will not be able to borrow books
at the same time.
Talking Books and Non-Fiction DVDs can be borrowed for 3 weeks at a
time, and the other items can be borrowed for 1 week.
Charges
There are
charges to borrow the items, although non-fiction DVDs are
FREE to borrow and
fines will be incurred for overdue items.
OAP's, the visually impaired and the unwaged will be exempt from
paying a hire charge on the talking books, as long as proof of
exemption is shown, e.g. Bus Pass, ES40. Children up to the age of
16 can borrow Talking Books for free but they will have to pay the
hire charge to borrow other items.
