Adults at Auchterarder Library
Here are some things which are happening at Auchterarder Library
for adults.
Computers
If you are keen to learn the basics of
computing then come to our free 10 week beginner's computing
course held on a Tuesday morning.
Places are limited so please
contact library staff to see if there are places
left.
We also run a 5 week intermediate learners class which costs
£2.50. These classes run on demand so please
phone to check if the class is running.
Reading groups
The staff at Auchterarder have set up two very successful
reading groups for keen readers. The groups meet once a
month and the members discuss a book that they have all read.
If you are keen to join a group or would like some ideas for an
established group
please get in touch.
Reading and writing
Raw is a new venture happening in Auchterarder and is linked to
the BBC RaW (Reading
and Writing). RaW encourages people who have difficulties
with reading and writing to come to the library to get help with
selecting some great and useful reading and writing
aids.
Community events
If you are new to the area or just want to know what's happening
in the town then come and have a browse through our folder of
community information and posters.
WRVS Books on Wheels
We offer a
housebound service at Auchterarder. This is a fortnightly
delivery of books to people who are unable to visit the
library. Staff spend time selecting titles which they think
will suit the housebound readers and the books/tapes are then
delivered by the WRVS.
