Fun for Children
Are your children stuck for ideas what to do, do they need help
with homework, or would they like a fantastic story to send them to
another world? Auchterarder Library has a great children's
section and our helpful staff are keen to help with any questions
and queries.
School work
A large homework collection is held in the library and we keep
up to date with school topics so that we can always help children
with their homework.
We have two
computers in the childrens' library which are a valuable
resource for homework.
Storytime
One of our favourite jobs in the library is to take our weekly
storytimes. These are held every Wednesday 2.15 - 2.45
pm and every Saturday 10.30 - 11.00 am.
Storytimes are for all children aged 3-5 and they are a great way
to introduce your young children to the library and all the super
picture books we have. Storytime is free and there is no need
to book.
Bookbug Rhymetime
Whether you are parents, grandparents or childminders, why not
bring your baby to our
Bookbug Rhymetime session?
This was a new venture for Auchterarder last year and is
designed to give babies and toddlers an introduction to the library
through rhymes and songs led by the library staff. These
sessions are held on Thursday afternoons starting at 2.30 pm.
Bookbug's Library Challenge
We have a lovely scheme running called
Bookbug's Library Challenge. This is fun activity is free
and aimed at children aged 0-4, giving them a chance
to borrow books and collect a series of colourful
certificates.
Groups
The library welcomes visits from groups of children for specific
library events. If you are involved in Brownies, Guides,
Cubs, playgroups or any other similar group then please don't
hesitate to
contact the library to organise an
event.
