Photographs and Postcards
We hold around 13,000 individual images in our
searchable collection, including postcards from the early twentieth century, photographs (mainly black and white) of views and buildings of Perth which were professionally taken between the 1960s and 1990s by a local photographer, the late Dr W H Findlay.
Perth Museum & Art Gallery also has an excellent collection of 122,000 photographs and negatives of Perth and Perthshire dating from 1850 to the present. The city and the surrounding countryside also feature prominently in paintings, engravings and prints from the 18th and 19th centuries.
