New libraries for Perth and Kinross
Over the next few years, four communities in Perth
& Kinross will see the opening of exciting new libraries,
as part of new Community Campuses currently being built
in the area.
Local libraries in Kinross, Crieff and Aberfeldy will move
into modern purpose-built accommodation in the campuses,
while a completely new library for the community of North Perth
will open in the North Inch campus.
Loch Leven Community Library - Loch Leven Community
Campus
Loch Leven Community library opened in November 2009.
It has a wide range of items for loan as well as free access
to computers and the internet.
There is a specially designed
children's area, spaces for personal study and learning
displays and activities. There is also an ICT room which can be
booked for group use. The new library at Loch
Leven includes a display from the museum as well.
Strathearn Community Library - Strathearn Community
Campus
The
library at Strathearn Community Campus also opened in
November 2009 and provides the same range of services
as Crieff library does at present.
This includes a range of items for loan and free access
to computers and the internet. In addition there is a specially
designed children's area, spaces designed for
personal study and learning and various displays and
activities. There is also an ICT room which can be booked
for group use.
North Inch Community Library - North Inch Community Campus
North Inch Community library opened on 6th April 2010
and Breadalbane Community Library, part of the
Breadalbane Community Campus, completes the set when it opens
in January 2011. All four libraries will be used by both
the schools and the public and opening hours will be extended from
existing public library opening hours.
