Many organisations provide information, help and support for people with a disability:

  • DISIP - the Disability Information Service in Perthshire are based in Perth and provide information on a range of issues.
  • UPDATE is Scotland's national disability information service.
  • ENABLE Scotland provides support for children and adults with learning disabilities.
  • Capability Scotland offer help and information for disabled people of all ages.
  • Dial UK represents a network of local Disability Information and Advice Line services run by and for local people.
  • PAMIS works in partnership with people with profound learning disabilities and their carers.
  • Whizz Kids provide mobility equipment, training, lifeskills, advice and information and is dedicated to helping children who have a disability to becoming more independent.
  • Contact A Family provide support, advice and information for families with disabled children no matter what their condition or disability.

The Council's Occupational Therapy Service aims to enable children, adults and older people with physical, mental and or learning difficulties to be as independent as possible.
