Library Favourites Policy
Perth and Kinross Library Service is to continue its popular policy of getting at least one new copy of every new book released by the area's favourite authors of fiction into each library. The idea, which was introduced in 2002, means that there will be relatively good access to any new titles by authors such as Jeffery Deaver, John Grisham, Sophie Kinsella and Danielle Steel.
The move to create an annual list of the favourite authors of fiction in Perth and Kinross arose from discussions between staff who looked at the borrowing habits of readers from Glen Lyon to Scotlandwell and from Meigle to St Fillans. This is something which is reviewed each year, allowing an author to be added to the list if their popularity has increased, and equally others to be removed if they are no longer producing new fiction.
