The Fergusson Gallery
Celebrating JD Fergusson and Margaret Morris
Fergusson Gallery celebrates the life and work of the
great pioneers of modern art and dance, John Duncan
Fergusson and Margaret Morris.
J D Fergusson is now best known as one of the celebrated
Scottish Colourist painters, while Margaret Morris
is recognised for her pioneering work in modern dance. She was
also an inspired choreographer, artist, movement therapist and
author.
Housed under the one roof at The Fergusson Gallery, their
collections tell a fascinating story. Containing artwork,
sketchbooks, costume, correspondence, photographs and other
extensive archives they illustrate their extraordinary talent and
creative energy. They also tell a touching love story of a couple
who were together for nearly fifty years.
Our Collections have been officially designated as a
Recognised Collection of National Significance to
Scotland.
