How we collect at Perth Museum and Art Gallery

With over 220 years of history and experience . . .
. . . we have collected objects to document and reflect the changing environment of Perth & Kinross
Our entire collection has been designated as a Recognised Collection of National Significance to Scotland.
The collection is too big, and some items are too sensitive, for everything to be on display at the same time but we will be happy to show any item not on display.

We add to the collections by fieldwork, gift, bequest and purchase.
Our Collecting Policy (pdf 500kb) regulates what we do and don't collect.
This is reviewed and approved by Perth & Kinross Council every five years.
