Childcare Information Service
Childcare Information Services were set up across the country to ensure that parents and carers have ready access to childcare information and guidance which is comprehensive, up to date and user friendly.
Information on all types of childcare including childminders, nurseries, playgroups, out of school clubs and parent & toddler groups is held on computer so that it can be updated as soon as we are notified of changes. Details available include opening hours, charges, vacancies and school pick ups.
The service can be contacted on 0845 601 4477, e-mail childcare@perthgrammar.pkc.sch.uk or you can visit the office in Perth Grammar School Community Wing on Bute Drive to pick up information. Details can be provided by phone, post, fax or e-mail. Some childcare providers have also chosen to make information about their service available via the new Scottish childcare website.
We also hold copies of various leaflets, including a range giving suggestions on what to look for and questions to ask when choosing different types of childcare and information on applying for help with paying for childcare.
The Childcare Information Service is currently working on expanding the range of information held. We have started to gather details of support available to parents, which can offer information and practical answers to everyday parenting concerns, on a one to one basis or in a group setting. We also plan to include leisure activities, clubs and organisations which might be of interest to children and families.
