PLAYSTART - Mobile Creche Project

Playstart was developed to provide a mobile childcare and play service across Perth & Kinross with a particular focus on rural areas of Perthshire.  The project makes trained staff and equipment available in venues in order to provide childcare, play or crèche provision.

Playstart is registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and all staff are trained and experienced childcare professionals.  We supply a full childcare service which includes staff, toys, equipment, refreshments and full public liability insurance.

Services offered by Playstart will in the first instance seek to support initiatives which form part of Perth & Kinross Early Education & Childcare Strategy but commercial bookings are also accepted.

Groups may require childcare provision for training events, conferences, community group meetings, weddings or other special events.  The Playstart van comes fully equipped with toys and equipment specific to babies and children up to three years old but can also resource events for children up to the age of fourteen.  Sessions can run from one to eight hours.  Charges are on a sliding scale and every effort is made to meet clients' needs while keeping charges to a minimum.

If you wish to make a booking or make an enquiry, please have the following information available -

  • Date and time of proposed session
  • Venue details including address, contact number, room size and location within building
  • Numbers and ages of children requiring care

To comply with Care Commission regulations, checks must be made as to the suitability of a proposed venue before a booking can be confirmed.  When making a booking, please give as much notice as possible to allow these checks to be completed, a minimum of 14 days is required.

Contact Playstart on 01738 634934 or e-mail childcare@perthgrammar.pkc.sch.uk for further information.
