Help at Hand
Last updated | 29/10/2008
'Help at Hand' is a collaboration between Education and Children's Services and other agencies. It is a response to the requirements of The Additional Support for Learning Act and is more recently highlighted in the HMIE's report on the implementation of the Act (November 2007). There is a continuing need to improve the effectiveness of transition from school to the post school world.
Help at Hand is aimed at young people with additional support needs from Secondary 2 onwards, and their parents/carers. It will provide information about local services and support available both in preparation for transition and post transition. Information will be provided through workshops.
