The Lifelong Learning Committee previously approved the proposal "to amalgamate Caledonian Road Primary School and Friarton Nursery School into a single school on a new site at Craigiehaugh, Glenearn Road, Perth" following statutory consultation.
The new
Inch View Nursery and Primary School is to be built under the Investment in Learning Programme at Glenearn Road, Perth to replace the existing Caledonian Road Primary School and Friarton Nursery School.
The school is currently scheduled to open on 5 October 2009, with a notional capacity of 350 places plus 80 full time nursery places, and a 20/20 part time nursery provision.
The school will also be approximately half a mile from both Moncreiffe Primary School and Craigie Primary School. Given the location of the new school it is therefore appropriate to review the catchment areas for all three of these primary schools.
Following a period of consultation from February to April 2008, a further report will be submitted to Lifelong Learning Committee requesting approval of the revised catchment areas.
