Music Tuition

The Perth and Kinross Instrumental Music Service (IMS) continues to deliver instruction to all secondary schools and due to Scottish Arts Council funding, opportunity of access to the service is available to all primary schools within the area.

Demand for instruction remains as high as ever, with approximately 1600 pupils receiving instruction with a considerable amount sitting SQA music examinations. Instrumental pupils once again contributed significantly over the year, to their schools' concerts, services, prize-givings and social evenings.

How much is Music Tuition?

The cost for music tuition is £234.15 per year per instrument, with an additional charge of £77.20 per year for pupils who are involved in central group [pdf 41KB] activities eg orchestra.  If you wish to pay the fees in instalments please contact the Sales Ledger Team on 01738 477440 on receipt of your invoice.

Perth and Kinross Music Foundation

The Perth and Kinross Music Foundation [pdf 82KB] is a registered charity and aims to financially support young musicians within the Perth and Kinross catchment area.

Am I eligible for free Music Tuition? 

Free music tuition is available to all pupils doing SQA courses and for those whose parents are on Income Support or Income-Based Jobseekers Allowance.
