Primary to Secondary School Transfer Arrangements

Is Your Child Transferring To Secondary School In August 2008?
The next school session begins on Tuesday 19 August 2008.
Children who are transferring to begin secondary school education on Tuesday 19 August 2008 will be advised of the school to which they will transfer by letter during the week commencing 14 January 2008. Parents can then decide
whether or not to request to send their child to another secondary school.
Placing Requests Must Be Made By Saturday 15 March 2008.
Placing Requests
Education Authorities have a duty to grant placing requests wherever possible. We will try to grant your request, provided there are places at the school you choose. Requests should be made on the appropriate form by
Saturday 15 March 2008. Placing request application forms and further information can be obtained from any Perth & Kinross Council school, from the address detailed below, or on Perth and Kinross Council’s website:
www.pkc.gov.uk.
Any requests made after this date will still be considered, but it is possible that places in certain schools may no longer be available.
The Council is, however, under no obligation to provide transport to a school
which does not normally serve the area where the parents reside.

Copies will be supplied on request. Information about a particular school can be obtained from the Headteacher of that school. Handbooks are available from every school from 15 December 2007.
