School Closures
Education & Children's Services ensure that each school is open to pupils for a period of 190 days in any school year, except where prevented by circumstances outwith our control, such as severe weather conditions or failure of essential services, ie loss of heating, electricity or water supplies.
The decision to close the school due to severe weather rests with the Headteacher (or nominated deputy), taking into account information of the individual local circumstances. The decision to close the school due to failure of essential services rests with the Executive Director. All schools have a system to deal with emergency closures and have an emergency closure plan.

The list will be cleared at 4 pm to allow schools to update their closure status on a daily basis.
