Education maintenance allowance
The
education maintenance allowance is a weekly payment of up to
£30 per week which can be paid to you if you are eligible and
you remain in education after you are legally permitted to leave
school.
Free school meals
Free school meals are offered to children of families who are
in receipt of Income Support or Income based Job Seekers Allowance,
support under part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 or
Child Tax Credits.
If you are in receipt of Working Tax Credit or with a total
yearly income in excess of £16,040 you are not entitled to
free school meals.
School clothing grants
School clothing grants are payments given to assist with the
cost of purchasing essential school clothing for school pupils up
to the age of 16. Families in receipt of Income Support or
Income-Based Jobseekers Allowance may be eligible.
Music tuition
Free music tuition is available to all pupils doing SQA courses
and for those whose parents are on Income Support or Income-Based
Jobseekers Allowance.
