Arrears and Evictions

Paying your rent on time is one of the fundamental obligations of your Council tenancy.  If you fail to pay your rent, the arrears that will develop may ultimately lead to you losing your tenancy.

Perth & Kinross Council does not want to evict its tenants and as such, eviction for any reason is a last resort.  If you are having difficulty paying your rent, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your situation.  You may be entitled to Housing Benefit which could help with the cost of your rent.  If you already have rent arrears, we may be able to agree an affordable repayment plan which will prevent any action being taken to recover your tenancy.

If you have received a Notice of Proceedings from the Council, please do not ignore this.  You should contact us as soon as possible to discuss your situation.  You can use the following liks to contact us about your rent account, housing benefit claim or for general enquiries.

Rent - HousingRents@pkc.gov.uk
Housing Benefit - HousingBenefit@pkc.gov.uk
