Applying for Council Housing

Last updated | 24/04/2007

If you wish to apply for a Council or Housing Association property in Perthshire & Kinross, you should obtain and complete an application form.  We have a Common Housing Register that allows you to apply for Council and Housing Association properties using only one form.

Properties are allocated to those who have been assessed as having the highest priority.  This assessment is carried out using Allocations Policies, the specific details of which may vary between organisations.

Anyone aged 16 years or over is entitled to be admitted to the Housing list.  However, the right to be admitted to the waiting list is not the same as the right to be offered accommodation as this is determined by housing need.

A summary of the Council's Allocations Policy can be read in full here.
