Evidence Requirements

Before we can assess your entitlement to Housing and Council Tax Benefit, documentation is required to support your application. We refer to this as evidence.
The evidence that we require is to cover your and your partner's (if applicable) Identity, National Insurance Number, Income, Savings and Capital, Rent, the income of any Second Adults and Non Dependants (anyone in your household over the age of 18 whom you do not receive Child Benefit for).
We have prepared, as a guideline, a checklist of what documentation we accept as evidence.
Unless you receive either Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance (Income Based) or Pension Credit Guaranteed Credit, you will be required to provide evidence for each relevant topic below.
It is important that you provide this information when you submit your application as this will help us to determine your entitlement sooner. You must also remember to submit original documentation as photocopies cannot be accepted.
