First Day of Entitlement
One of the main differences is the date that Housing and Council
Tax Benefit can be awarded from. Providing that an
application is made in the correct manner, (please refer to our
how to claim section) entitlement to Housing and/or Council Tax
Benefit can be taken back up to 3 months but only back to their
60th birthday or the day that liability to rent and/or rent began
(whichever date is later).
