In this area you will find information about various aspects of repairs, improvements, modernisation and adaptations. This part of the website includes information for Council tenants who need to request a repair or enquire about planned maintenance or improvement works. There is also information for those accommodated in other tenures who have repair or improvement issues.
Securing the future awards 2009
The
Bathroom Reneval Project managed by Housing Improvement team has won Council's Securing the Future Silver Award in May 2009 in "Customer Focus" category. The aim of the project is providing 6500 families living in council houses with a newly fitted bathroom.
Overall cost of the project is £24 million and 98 per cent of customer safisfaction shows that it was a worthy investment. We install 60 bathrooms per week and are on scheldule to finish in 2010.
Another Silver Award in the same category was presented to the
Housing Repairs Response Team. The Area Response Team incorporates all trades and deals with small scale repairs. The Housing Repairs Service has also started using mobile technology to communicate with the workmen. In result, Council tenants can now get a confirmed morning or afternoon appointment. Small scale repairs are with quicker and more efficiently at the first visit.
