Scottish accessibility handbook
Last updated | 18/10/2011
If you require advice on the specialist requirements to make
your building accessible and barrier free, the Scottish
Association of Building Standards Managers (SABSM) have published
an inclusive design handbook which gives guidance on the
minimum requirements of the current Building (Scotland) Regulations
2004.
The book does not claim cover everything nor to have all the
answers but aims to provoke designers into thinking about those
with disabilities when designing buildings. It is written in simple
language with clear diagrams, with references to further detailed
technical guidance.
The book can be accesses and downloaded download from www.accessibilitybydesign.co.uk/scottish. If
you would like a hard copy please contact Building Standards.
