Building standards enforcement
When can enforcement be taken?
Building Standards can take enforcement in the following
circumstances:-
- Where work is being undertaken without building warrant
approval, where one is required,
- Where a building warrant has been granted but the work is
not being undertaken in accordance with the approved plans
& specifications.
- Where there is a risk to public safety arising from a
building being deemed to be dangerous or in disrepair.
- Where an owner fails to meet conditions attached to a
completion certificate (known as Continuing Requirements).
- Where a person falsely or misleadingly obtains a
completion certificate or where a building is occupied without a
completion certificate having been accepted.

outstanding notices from the Building Scotland Act 1959 &
1970.
