Countryside Management and Conservation The Countryside Section of Perth and Kinross Council, have a responsibility for helping to maintain and conserve some of the stunning countryside of the County.

Management Plans
Much of the management that Perth and Kinross Council undertake is outlined in a series of Management Plans. Some of these plans can be found on this website - please use the menu on the left to select the site you are interested in.
Management Groups/User GroupsSome sites are managed in partnership with User Groups, Community Groups or other interested parties. The work that some of these groups undertake, is highlighted in the pages accessed from the menu on the right.
Access Management
One of the most extensive areas of management that the Countryside Section undertake, is ensuring that access to the countryside is as accessible to all people as possible. To this end we manage and maintain a great many paths and tracks throughout the County.

Conservation ManagementThe Countryside Ranger Service look after, on behalf of Perth and Kinross Council, a number of sites across the County. These are managed to provide an opportunity for people to access the environment and outdoors, to provide information for visitors as well as to conserve and enhance the wildlife and conservation value of our sites.
The Rangers also organise the Perth and Kinross Conservation Volunteers.
