Access officers
What do Access Officers do?
Our Access Officers are based in Perth and deal with issues
and enquiries in relation to access rights and responsibilities.
They work closely with the Perth & Kinross Outdoor Access
Forum. They also consider and comment on development
applications in relation to possible impacts on public
access.
They may be able to help with enquiries regarding:
- The right of public access and associated
responsibilities
- Public rights of way and core paths
- Obstructions to public access such as locked gates, fences and
notices
- Irresponsible access such as damage to property, uncontrolled
dogs or disturbance to livestock
- The extent of access rights and where access right do not
apply
- Disputes regarding public access
- Volunatary agreements and byelaws as a means of resolving
disputes between user groups
- Exemption orders which temporarily suspend the right of public
access for particular reasons
- Signage and other issues with paths
- Wild camping
