Where else can I get information on walking and access in Perthshire?

There are many areas and routes provided by other organisations you can visit and there is plenty of information available to help you get the most out of being in the countryside. Please use the links below to reach websites which may be of interest to you -

• The Forestry Commission has extensive forest trails and facilities
• The National Trust for Scotland countryside properties include Visitor Centres and walks at Killiecrankie, Pitlochry, Ben Lawers and Dunkeld
• The British Horse Society offers advice on access for horse riders
• The Scottish Canoe Association has lots of great information for those interested in canoeing
• Fishtay.co.uk is an excellent resource for anglers and other river users
• Deer stalking can mean that some hill areas are not accessible at certain times. The Hillphones scheme gives you daily information about where stalking is taking place
• There are some great places to get up close to wildlife in Perth & Kinross. RSPB Visitor Centre at Loch Leven National Nature Reserve and the Scottish Wildlife Trust's Loch of the Lowes are just two of the places worth visiting
• The Woodland Trust have several woodland walks worth a visit
• Atholl Estates based in Blair Atholl offer plenty of choice for anyone interested in the outdoors
• Perthshire is Big Tree Country, it has Europe's oldest tree, the world's highest hedge and Britain's tallest tree
• Details of National Cycle Networks and information on cycling and mountain biking  facilities can also be obtained online
• Visit Scotland has general information on walking in Perthshire at walking wild
• The Ramblers Association and the Mountaineering Council of Scotland both have good information for more serious walkers
