NEWS
During hot weather it can be tempting to cool off in some of the burns, water courses and lochs in Perth and Kinross. Please remember that open water can hold hidden dangers, such as under water currents, unknown depths and, particularly in warm weather, blue green algae which can be harmful to humans and animals. We are aware that there is an algal bloom at Loch Leven currently and advise that animals and humans do not enter the water as this algae can cause health problems.
