Dunning Placecheck Update
Exhibition: February 2010
There was a small display about Dunning Placecheck in the Village
Hall from Wednesday 17th February to Friday 19th February
2010
This was part of a Conservation Area Appraisal, for more
information see:
www.pkc.gov.uk/dunningconservationarea
Final Design Viewing: June 2009
The final designs for Dunning Placecheck were on show
at Dunning Golf Club Pavilion between the 23rd June and 5th
July between 8am and 8pm to view and comment on the final designs
for improving open spaces in Dunning
Dunning community were invited to vote for their preferred
option for improvements to the Tron Square area to help with
movement of traffic and
pedestrians. This was the communities last chance to comment
before the works begin
After the ballot, the public votes were counted and the results
of the voting were:
Option 4 - 61%
Option 4a - 21.5%
Option 5 - 17.5%
Copies of the proposed plans and comments from the public who
came to the exhibition can be viewed in the downloads section
of this page.
Option 4 scored the highest number of votes. This option will
include no waiting restrictions. On further investigation it was
found to be technically too difficult to lay the setts due to heavy
vehicles using the road, but there will still be a path at the
pinch point.
There will also be new lighting in the area, a fixing for the
Christmas tree and a new sign with points of interest. Work will
start here on the 3rd October. This will mean the road will be
closed for up to one week to allow for the works to take place.
This will have an impact on bus services and will mean that traffic
will be diverted. Clearly marked diversions will be in place to
re-route traffic.
Drop-in Session: Wednesday 22nd April 2009
52 adults and 19 children came to a drop in session on Wednesday
22 April 2009 between 2.30pm and 6.30pm at Dunning
Village Hall. The purpose of the session was to update
everyone on progress made so far on the priority issues that were
identified at previous Placecheck events. The Information was
divided into zones with maps, drawings and written information
displayed. Officers from the Council prepared the displays and
attended on the day to explain things further and answer questions
from residents. Community Council members also assisted on the
day.
Residents were also invited to take a walk around Dunning with
the Dunning Parish Historical Society. The walk started at 4pm
from inside the Village Hall. People enjoyed the walk and the
opportunity to get to know Dunning better.
