Rolling hills, riverside walks and ancient drove roads await to be discovered!

Blairgowrie is an historic drovers town, where cattle where brought each year on their way to markets at the Crieff and Falkirk Trysts. Nowadays, Blairgowrie is a popular tourist town, with a wealth of hotels, shops and businesses catering for the visitor. An increasingly popular walking festival is based out of Blairgowrie each year attracting walkers from near and far for a week of led walks covering everything from historical walks to munro bagging!

As well as the five paths forming the Path Network, Blairgowrie is the start and finish point for the 64 mile long distance circular walk, the Cateran Trail, which follows drove roads, quite roads and hill tracks as it loops through a varied highland landscape.

The five paths of the network offer something for all tastes and abilities, with many sections accessible to all users, including wheelchair users. From the Bluebell Woods with its magnificent rich blue carpet each spring, to catching the occasion glimpse of a salmon whilst exploring the River Ericht, the paths give visitors a chance to view some of the wildlife of the area.

Path surfaces vary, from well surfaced and level paths, to rough and occasionally muddy tracks, and vary in distance from 2 to 8 miles.
