Loch Leven Heritage Trail

The Loch Leven Heritage Trail has been implemented by a partnership of landowners and managers, coordinated by the Rural Access Committee for Kinross-shire (TRACKS) who have secured funding, planned and are undertaking the installation of a 13km path between Kinross and Vane Farm, running in a clockwise direction around the shore of Loch Leven.

Due to be completed in summer 2008, this level, well surfaced path is accessible to all users and offers a glimpse into the varied and exciting natural and cultural heritage of Loch Leven. From castles that imprisoned Queens, to a loch whose level is controlled by man, Loch Leven has a varied past. Not only that, but Loch Leven is a National Nature Reserve and is one of the most important sites for wildfowl in Europe.

A leaflet (PDF, 600KB) is available. A revised leaflet will be available in late summer 2008 on completion of the final section of path. Leaflets are also available from Perth & Kinross Council and local outlets.
