Blackford brief
What site does the brief
cover?
Two housing sites identified in the Strathearn Area Local
Plan:
- Mill of Ogilvie (H 23)
- Abercairney Place (H 24)
What does the brief do?
This Brief seeks to supplement the development framework
contained in the Adopted Strathearn Area Local Plan 2001. It
provides additional guidance on the design, use and layout of the
two housing sites H 23 and H 24. It also seeks to place these sites
within an enhanced landscape setting for the north of the
village.
The Local Plan suggests 200 houses can be developed on these two
sites; 100 constructed to 2006 and the remaining 100 beyond
2006.
When will the brief be used?
The purpose of this development guidance is to identify the
relevant issues applicable to the development of this site and to
establish a framework within which detailed design options can be
prepared and considered as required by the Local Plan.
What if the proposal does not accord with the brief?
Developers whose proposals do not accord with the guidance set
out in the brief must be prepared to demonstrate that they will
achieve a better design solution more in keeping with the character
of the area.
