Local plans
What is a Local Plan?
Local Plans are land-use plans, prepared by all Councils for
their area.
They contain detailed guidance on where we will encourage
development and where it is unlikely to be allowed. They are an
essential point of reference for anyone who wants to build in Perth
& Kinross or to know what could be built in your local
area. Each plan provides a statement of the Council's planning
policies and proposals for that area.
How many local plans are there in Perth and Kinross?
We have six Local Plans covering Perth and Kinross, these
are:
From the downloads section on this page you can view a map
showing each Local Plan area.
Where can I see a local plan for my area?
The Local Plans can be viewed in most libraries and Council
offices. From the links above you can view
and download the Local Plans.
Copies can also be purchased (usually at a cost
of £15) from Perth & Kinross Council, The Environment
Service, Pullar House, 35 Kinnoull Street Perth, PH1 5PH or by
telephoning 01738 475300.
Will the Local Plans be updated?
The Council are no longer revising the Local
Plans and under the new Planning Act we are now preparing
a Local Development Plan. This document will cover the entire
Council area and when adopted will replace the current Local Plans.
Further information about this new plan is on the Development Plan - Proposed Plan
page.
