Development plan scheme

What is the Development Plan Scheme?

The Development Plan Scheme is the first stage in our preparation of the new Local Development Plan (LDP). It sets out our programme for preparing and reviewing it. We will review it at least every year to provide you with an up-to-date picture of how we are progressing with the Plan.

What is a Participation Statement?

The Participation Statement makes up a vital part of the Development Plan Scheme and is prepared to ensure that you have an opportunity to engage and participate in the future planning of the area. The aim of the statement is to clearly set out when, how and with whom we will consult throughout the preparation of the LDP.

How will the Development Plan Scheme be made available to the public?

The Development Plan Scheme was last revised in November 2009 and you can download it from this page or view a copy at our offices and public libraries. The reason for making it widely available is to encourage interested parties to keep themselves informed throughout the Plan preparation process.
