What is supplementary guidance?
Supplementary guidance is issued for specific areas
or topics to help you understand the policies in the Local
Plan.
Supplementary guidance does not have as much 'weight' as policy.
However, it should be considered the best practice to follow,
except where material circumstances justify an exception.
The links on the left of this page show the Supplementary Planning
Guidance which we currently have.
Are things changing?
The new planning system will allow supplementary guidance
to form part of the Local Development Plan. Consequently it will
have a statutory basis. It is our intention to prepare such
guidance when necessary.
