Developer contributions - A9 Junctions
Why are you seeking developer contributions?
The Developer Contributions are being sought due to road safety
concerns on the A9 within the Auchterarder area. A number of
improvements have been identified to resolve this issue including
the closure of right turn crossings southbound from Auchterarder
and improvements at the Loaninghead junction and creation of a new
junction at Shinafoot Road, Auchterarder.
Who has to pay the developer contributions?
All development within the wider Auchterarder area as identified
within the policy boundary, which would be considered to
have an impact on the A9 junctions at Auchterarder this includes
all residential development, business development which is subject
to a Transport Assessment and all other development
including tourism which would considered to have a significant
impact as identified within a Transport Assessment.
The Consortium of developers that are implementing the Auchterarder Expansion Development Framework
for the development of 800 new houses and provision of economic
land will lead on the implementation of the junction improvements
in order to relieve existing road safety constraints within the
area.
Are there any exemptions from payment?
The details of the application of the policy can be found in the
full policy document. However, contributions are not required where
a proposal contributes to local amenity, reduces the need
to travel and is considered to provide a local service. The
policy does not apply retrospectively to those developments that
have already received consent unless amendments are made that
depart significantly from the original permission.
Where can I get more information?
