What is planning applications online?

Planning applications online  gives you summary details of all planning applications submitted to and decisions made by us since 1995.  You can also view documents associated with any planning application submitted from the beginning of August 2005 (ie application number 05/01433).  You can also view planning applications which are or have been subject to appeal by the applicant.

Will people see my comments?

You should note that any comment you make cannot be treated as confidential and note that all letters of representation, including all address details (but not signatures or personal telephone numbers or personal e-mail addresses), will be treated as public documents and, in the near future, will be displayed for public inspection on the planning applications online pages relevant to the application that you have commented on or are looking at and will be available for anyone to view. We do not accept anonymous submissions but you are not required to supply your signature.

It may also be necessary to make them available to the applicant/agent to seek resolution of concerns. Material which forms part of an application and on which the final decision is based must also be available for public inspection.

Will I see all planning applications?

You should be aware that the application numbers from 1995 to 1999 may not correspond to those contained in the register of applications available to view in our offices. This is due to a change in the system used. However, if you use the property search tool in planning applications online you will get the details of the applications relative to the property. Should need the application number please contact us at the address given below.

You can also view details of Building Warrant applications. However, you will not be able to see any of the associated documents.

All of this information is updated regularly, normally at least once each working day.

What does it allow me to do?

You can follow progress and make comments on current planning applications, view details of all applications, see associated documents and review property details.

Can I get information on appeals?

You can follow progress on current planning appeals, view details of the application, see associated documents (from 21 August 2005) and review property details.  If you want more information you can also view details on the Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals web pages.

Where do you get the information from?

All of the information we use comes directly from our planning and building application database that is updated many times each working day.

Is all the information correct?

While we make every effort to ensure that the information shown in planning applications online is accurate and up-to-date we can not guarantee it and some data sets, particularly constraints, are incomplete. New information is normally available online within 5 working days of submission.

You should also be aware that the online application numbers from 1995 to 1999 may not correspond to those contained in the register of applications available to view in our offices. This is due to a change in the system used. However, if you use the property search tool in planning applications online you will get the details of the applications relative to the property. Should you need the application number please contact us at the address given below.

You can also view details of Building Warrant applications. However, you will not be able to see any of the associated documents.

You should check with Development Management or Building Standards officers before making important decisions that rely on the data you have seen.

How do I report errors?

If you find a document is missing and it is more than 5 working days since submission to us or you find that a document has been allocated to the wrong application please help us maintain accuracy by emailing the details to DevelopmentManagement@pkc.gov.uk or alternatively telephone 01738 475300.
