What does it cost
What will I have to pay a fee for?
You will have to pay a fee for a planning application when you intend to make
- an application for planning permission including "retrospective" applications where development has already taken place
- an application for approval of reserved matters following the grant of outline planning permission
- an application for consent to display advertisements
- a deemed application arising from enforcement notice appeals
- an application arising from certificates of lawful use or development
- certain applications for the prior approval of a planning authority
When will I not need to pay a fee?
You do not have to pay a fee when you are making
- an application for listed building consent
- an application for certificates of appropriate alternative development
- an application to lop or fell trees subject to tree preservation orders
Applications for consents required by any condition attached to a full planning permission, nor to any attached to an outline permission if the condition relates to anything other than a "reserved matter" as defined in the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Order 1992.
