Why did we consult on the wind energy policy and guidelines?
Although public consultation on the draft policy and guidelines was extensive, this did not cover the 'Preferred Areas' identified in the final policy, since these were developed in parallel with the consultation process. We are therefore undertook a further consultation on the Preferred Areas and associated parts of the policy to give you the chance to influence their extent.
Now that everyone has had their say on the extent of the 'preferred' and sensitive areas and your comments together with our report and recommendations have been reported to our Enterprise and Infrastucture Committee on 20 April 2005. We have consolidated the approved policy and guidelines into one documment and this is available here.
