Affordable Housing Policy
Where can I get a copy of the affordable housing policy?
You can get a copy of the policy here.
Why was the policy reviewed?
The need to review and update the affordable housing policy approved in March 2004 came in response to the Planning Advice Note 74 on Affordable Housing published by the Scottish Executive in March 2005.
What happens next?
We will use the policy as non-statutory guidance until it is incorporated into Local Plans as and when they are reviewed.
Can you tell me more about the affordable housing guide?
An Affordable Housing Guide has been produced to give advice and information to all those with an interest in affordable housing. You can get a copy of the Guide here. We undertook consultation on the Guide before it was finalised and it was approved by the Enterprise & Infrastructure Committee on 29 August 2007.
Can you tell me about the commuted sums?
On some sites the Council may agree that a commuted sum can be paid rather than the affordable housing contribution being provided on site. The current commuted sums are:
| Eastern Planning Area |
|
£23,000 per house |
| Highland Planning Area |
|
£23,000 per house |
| Kinross Planning Area |
|
£40,000 per house |
| Perth Planning Area |
|
£40,000 per house |
| Strathearn Planning Area |
|
£32,000 per house |
A report has been prepared giving information on the commuted sums which have been received up to March 2008. It also gives the details of what these sums have been spent on. You can view the report from the download area here.
