We aim to improve the appearance and prosperity of Perth and Kinross and the social well-being of its people.
We do this by shaping the future of our towns, villages and countryside and by protecting and enhancing their qualities through: working in partnership with local communities to plan and deliver initiatives; developing planning policies and promoting sustainable development; improving standards of design quality and access; and designing out crime in accordance with the policy framework.
The finalised alteration to the Perth & Kinross Structure Plan was approved by the Council at its meeting of 24 June 2009. The alteration looks at the impact of the new population figures and updates the amount of land which is needed for housing. We hope to submit the finalised Alteration to Scottish Ministers by the end of July 2009.
The Development Plan Scheme (DPS) is the first stage in our preparation of the new Local Development Plan (LDP). It sets out our programme for preparing and reviewing it. We will review it at least every year to provide you with an up-to-date picture of how we are progressing with the Plan. You can download a copy from this page or get one from our offices or libraries. The reason for making it widely available is to encourage interested parties to keep themselves informed throughout the Plan preparation process.
Scotland Northern Ireland Forum for Environment Research (SNIFFER) ran a pilot project on behalf of the Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership (SCCIP) on Local Climate Impact Profiles (LCIP). Perth & Kinross Council was one of the four pilot authorities in the project, which ran between March and September 2008. The LCLIP has now been completed and is available to view or download from the web site.
