Dead Animals

It is an unfortunate occurrence that from time to time animals are hit by vehicles and left on or at the side of the road.
If you see a dead animal on a public highway such as a badger, fox, deer, cat or dog please call The Environment Service Helpline on 01738 476476 and we will collect it.
If the carcass is located on a motorway or main trunk road please contact the appropriate Trunk Road Operators.

Please note and inform us of the following:
- Location, and proximity to landmarks or junctions to aid retrieval
- Type or size of dead animal carcass to be removed
- When you saw the animal.
To report lost or stray dogs please ask for the Dog Control Officers through the Environment Services Helpline on 01738 476476.
To report injured or abandoned animals please call the SSPCA on 0870 737 7722.
