Cardboard Recycling for Business

Over 300 businesses already benefit from this recycling service with around 25 tonnes of cardboard being collected and recycled into plaster board liner and other cardboard products each week.

What types of cardboard can be recycled?

You can recycle all types of flat and corrugated cardboard including cardboard packing boxes, cardboard tubes and cereal or food packaging boxes.

Please do not recycle cardboard which is contaminated with food or plastic packaging.

How can I recycle my business cardboard?

Cardboard can be collected in a number of ways to suit your business:

  • You can purchase green labels in packs of 50 and each label can be used for up to 10 flattened boxes placed in a secure bundle at the kerbside.
  • Alternatively your cardboard can be collected in a range of containers.

Flexible collections are available in a dedicated cardboard collection vehicle.

Why should my business recycle cardboard?

Many businesses find cardboard a bulky material that makes up a large proportion of their waste.

Recycling your cardboard:

  •  Does not incur landfill tax so can save your business money.
  • Saves resources. Recycling 1 tonne of cardboard can save up to 17 trees.
  • 9 million tonnes of cardboard and paper are used in the UK each year.
